WHO: Christine Bravata: Studio Artist & Instructor

With a lifelong passion for nature, animals, and the Arts, I wish to bring inspiration and creativity to life through my work. My favorite subjects are horses, butterflies and nature in general, so you will see this a lot in my pottery as well as my equine art and paintings.

I am honored to share my art with the world. It is my sincere hope that you will find meaning and inspiration with one or more of my pieces.

HOW: Hot is happening!

Each piece of functional pottery is designed, handcrafted and carved or thrown on the pottery wheel. Once the clay is bone dry, they are fired in a kiln at 1855*F, then hand painted with food safe, non-toxic glazes and fired a second time to over 2300*F, at which point it becomes waterproof, dishwasher safe and microwave safe for your enjoyment.

WHY: Giving Back!

As a counselor and animal behaviorist, my work with Autistic individuals and at-risk youth at The Eye of a Horse Animal and Nature Therapy program at Forever Florida has inspired much of my sculpture, paintings and poetry. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the ABC Conservancy at Forever Florida to support these amazing programs. For more info please visit www.eyeofahorse.com

...And the "what's what"

A horse, of course!

Horses in particular are amazing creatures. They teach us so much about ourselves and show us a calm, gentle, yet powerful and majestic beauty that lives within us all.  I love creating horse pottery and ceramics as well as painting fantastical and vibrant watercolor paintings of horses.  One of my favorite pieces is this functional ceramic horse pitcher.

Personalized Pottery with Passion

My absolute favorite part of creating is adding meaning to each piece.

I use the imprint of my grandmother's doily that she crocheted over 100 years ago, as a design element in many of my pieces.  She would be so proud... ;)

Contact me if you have a family heirloom you would like memorialized in pottery!

Who said only Mr. Ed could speak? ;)

What could be better than a pot of poetry?

By carving my original poetry on some of my pieces, I hope to give each piece its own voice.  I hope my art speaks to you and puts a smile on your face and joy in your heart!

Contact me if you have something special to say to someone and I will put it on some pottery!

...And the rest of it...

 Why is clay the coolest?

I love the movement and versatility of clay, and as it is transformed, I can feel each piece come alive in its uniqueness as it emerges into its new earth form.

And it always seems to have a mind of it's own... a reminder to just go with the flow!

Get the juices flowing

I am forever inspired by the "Untamed Spirit" in us all...The majestic beauty of horses... the mystery of the sea...the joy of gratitude...the freedom of creativity...and the perfection in all that is...

Be creative, be inspired, be unique, just be.
